Now we know why Hilleary received 18 million female votes. Yesterday, Obama said “you can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig.” This was obviously a reference to the Sarah Palin line, “the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick.”
So, Obama kisses Joe Biden’s wife on the lips and now he calls Todd Palin’s wife a pig. Obama doesn’t have to worry about Joe Biden, but Todd Palin. That could be a whole different story. Does Michelle wear lipstick? What does he think of Michelle? Enquiring minds want to know.
I know this is a freakin’ waste of tinme, but Obama did not call Palin a pig.
He called the whole idea that McCain/Palin represent “change” lipstick on a pig.”
You can read about that in any one of dozens of sources, but you probably won’t. You’d rather just carry on with the faux outrage.
BTW, McCain called Hillary’s healthcare plan “lipstick on a pig” a few months ago. I heard exactly no one accuse him of calling Hillary a pig.
That’s because he didn’t call her a pig. And Obama didn’t call Palin a pig either.
Don’t we have more important things to talk about?
Look, of all the quotes on the planet Obama could have used he picks this one! Cut the crap anon…this is a direct attack on Sarah!
I am personally glad it was done. You never see true representation of a person till they start to fall in the polls or elections.
People now see who Obama really is!
Hey maybe this is why we had a record crowd of smart sophisticated young woman at our Young Republican meeting last night!
dan- he also used other analogies in the same speech, such as “wrapping a fish in newspaper… it still stinks.” But no one is accusing him of calling McCain or Palin a stinky fish.
It’s a piece of manufactured outrage. The ‘lipstick on a pig’ analogy is used frequently by politicians (McCain uses it, and it’s a favorite of our current VP Cheney, I understand).
But this stage of the election isn’t about issues. Those of us who care about issues have already decided. The last two weeks are oriented around that the media calls the “low information” (e.g., uninformed) voter that votes based on who they’d rather have a beer with. That’s why Palin’s speech didn’t reveal anything about her stand on issues.
What’s the big deal? Muslim men have always had a problem with strong women.
