This story from the Chattanooga Times Free Press reports that Third District Congressional Candidate Scottie Mayfield has said that recipients of Welfare and Medicare are “non taxpayers” He also said that these government programs are charities. Scottie is obviously from a farm, a McMinn County farm as an heir to the Mayfield Diary Farm operations which are now owned by Dean Foods. But with Mayfield referring to government programs as charity and recipients as non taxpayers makes you wonder what planet Mayfield is from. And this guy wants to be one of 435 members of US House of Representatives. Our country doesn’t deserve that.
