Are Real Estate Transfers of Public Interest?

There are always real estate transfers in the newspaper and you know the biggest house in Tennessee, Villa Collina is in the news every time it changes hands.

Back on November 6, 2018, former Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett was elected to Congress. He and his wife owned a home in a West Knoxville community that his parents owned before their passing.

According to the records that can be obtained online, in 1/23/2014 the home was transferred from his parents to Burchett Individually and then on 1/28/2019 (25 days after being sworn into the 116th Congress) according to public records, the home was transferred from Timothy F Burchett to his wife Kelly Burchett.

On 9/4/2020 a single family residence with acreage on E. Emory Road was purchased by Timothy Floyd Burchett and Kelly Burchett for $1,250,000.00 the property was purchased from an Asheville, NC LLC that purchased the property in 2017 for a little more than $1,000,000.00.

Not sure the public cares or not.

I have not identified the specific addresses so as to protect the Burchett’s privacy. Unlike what the Knox News Sentinel did to former Sheriff Tim Hutchison years ago when they printed a map to a vacation cabin in Wears Valley that he had built and owned. The Hutchison’s ultimately sold the cabin.
