Last evening the Knox County Joint Education Committee met. Four members of the Knox County School Board and four member of the Knox County Commission form the committee.
This year it is Evetty Satterfield, Patti Bounds, Kristi Kristy and Daniel Watson from the school board. Dr. Dasha Lundy, Courtney Durrett, Richie Beeler and Carson Dailey from the commission.
On Friday, Commission Chairman Larsen Jay announced the December commission meetings would be electronically due to the rise in cases of the pandemic in Knox County. Of the eight members, only Watson joined electronically.

They elected Satterfield to Chair the Joint Education Committee. They heard from the schools finance guru Ron McPherson about the state of school finances and operations.
They set three more meetings, the next one is January 20.
