Knox Schools…… Ah Hell Nah…..

So the Knox County Schools tried to pull a fast one, a new policy to “prohibit” parents or guardians from recording IEP meetings about their Special Needs children. When the parents figured out what was happening, the Knox County School Board kicked it back to the Policy Review Committee.

That committee met at 1:30 pm today, watch it here or below. I held the camera wrong, I wasn’t expecting this so quickly. Knox County Law Department Attorney Gary Dupler gave it the ole college try. He added a new first paragraph and Board Members Jennifer Owen, Daniel Watson and Kristi Kristy spoke up and said it’s not enough.

Why the word prohibit wasn’t prohibited was confusing. So, it was suggested he tweak again before the August meeting. Kristy said why don’t you bring it back to the next Policy Review Committee. That is September 22, 2021. See y’all then.

What is the issue with recording those meetings ? Are they afraid their lies and half truths will be exposed?
