My Sources Indicate That History Will Be Made This Weekend

My sources informed me today (Tuesday April 25, 2006) that this weekend two current Mayors will be canvassing neighborhoods, in a GOTV (Get Out The Vote) effort. My sources asked if this has ever occurred in the history of the community or state. I feel certain that it has never occurred in this community and unlikely that it has occurred in the state.

So, if your neighborhood is the one. You will have the two decision makers within a football field distance from one another. One will be at your door, while the other is at your neighbors door.

Early Voting ends Thursday April 27, 2006, the early voting locations are open until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday April 26 and Thursday April 27.

    Mr. Hornaback,
This is really isn’t that historic. It’s good politiking, no doubt about it. However, I have to ask why wait until now being as there are only two days of early voting left? Why not last week? Or back at the start of early voting?
This is a good headline grabber (maybe) but historic? Unless one of them, God forbid, gets hit by a car few (other than you maybe) will remember this a week from now.

  2. SteveMule, This isn’t the first time that Mayor Ragsdale has canvassed a neighborhood for votes. In this election he has been canvassing neighborhoods since the first week of December.

I thought it was historic in that the other Mayor is reported to be door knocking with him this coming weekend.

Mayor Ragsdale has always worn out two and three pairs of shoes in every election. His first campaign for county commission in 1990, his re-election to county commission in 1994. He term-limited himself from County Commission. He then campaigned door to door in 2002 for County Executive and now for re-election in 2006.
