Something Ain’t Quite Right About The Vines Story

Today, in the Big Metal Shed on the Hill product Georgiana Vines has a column that Former Schools Bureaucrat and Board Member picked up a petition to challenge South Knox County School Board Member Pam Trainor. Four years ago, he “managed” Pam Trainor’s successful campaign. It was in title only, Trainor and her husband Brian have a long history of community and civic involvement in South Knoxville.

McClain who served a long time as a school administrator went on to be elected to the school board. In 2002, he opted not to run and supported Former County Commissioner who became the School Board Member, then in 2006 he challenged Bratton and Bratton easily defeated McClain. Then in 2010, a busy crowd ran and Bratton and Trainor faced off. Trainor ultimately won. (I am recanting 2010 by memory)

In 2012, McClain was a vocal supporter of Democrat Madeline Rogero for Knoxville Mayor. Serving as emcee at the rally outside the Civic Coliseum before a televised Mayoral debate.

McClain’s tactic could be an effort to minimize the field of opponents. Or he could be repeating his Bratton turncoat maneuver of 2006. That did not bode well and I suspect if the choice is Trainor or McClain. Trainor will slam dunk a win.
