Twenty Four IRS Agents in TN Charged With Stealing “Our” Money

The Tennessean reports here today that twenty four IRS agents in TN have been indicted on stealing $250,000 in unemployment and food stamp benefits. The story says “On Thursday, 13 of those employees were indicted on federal charges that they lied to get unemployment, food stamps, welfare and housing vouchers. An additional 11 have been indicted on state charges of theft greater than $1,000.”

In addition, a state audit has revealed that there has been $73 million in overpayments made to TN Dept of Labor and Workforce Development. That audit revealed 24 active state employees that received $124,000 in benefits and seven dead people who received $12,387.

Entitlement reform and implementation of proper checks and balances is NOW. I wonder how many parent teacher conferences those twenty four individuals have attended? Lighten up folks, I am only joking.
