West Knox Republican Picnic was NOT a Totally Unifed Event

Tonight was the West Knox Republican Picnic, it was combined with other Republican clubs and has always been a unity event, one where Republican candidates even if opposing one another get along nicely for the event.

During the event, the wife of Republican State Representative Candidate District 18 James Corcoran saw an individual get out and remove Corcoran and Steve Hall’s signs throwing them behind the hedges.

The event center was being used by West Knox Republican Club as an event for the Republican Party, exclusivity for a candidate has never been the case. The two other candidates for TN State Representative District 18 Martin Daniel and Bryan Dodson were no shows for the dinner and the one major West Knox Republican Club fundraiser.

Back 14 years ago, the State Representative in District 18 was having an event over on Lonas Road, the challenger had signs out on Lonas Road and a  supporter of the incumbent got out and removed the challengers sign. Knoxville Police Department were called and they went to the event and either arrested or cited the person for the offense of taking the sign. The incumbent, the challenger and more importantly the supporter are all friends of this writer and for that reason, I am not listing their names. But I tell the story because this district has a history of and with signs.
