Oops, I #TheMegaBullhornofTruth Did It Again….

cue Britney Spears…… because #TheMegaBullhornofTruth did it again. On April 24, 2019 at 5 pm the Knox County Board of Education approved next years budgets (General Fund, Capital and the School Nutrition Fund Budgets) Now granted this is the School Boards Request to the Knox County Mayor, BUT the Board has been meeting with the Superintendent before the vote and all hands have been on deck with the budget. During the School Boards April 24 Meeting when they voted on it, it was stated that Knox County Mayor’s Finance Director and Deputy Chief of Staff had been working with schools staff on the document that the board was voting on.

So, on Thursday April 25, 2019 I discover pay increases for the 9 Elected School Board Members on the document the board approved. Which if pay raises for the 9 School Board Members were implemented it would be a violation of the County Charter. I post about it here on April 26, 2019. Board Member Jennifer Owens commented on it and said she was asking questions because they can not do it.

Last night, Sunday April 28, 2019 I received communication from Carly Harrington, the Schools Communications that it was an error and she would send me a new sheet this morning April 29, 2018.

New budget sheet withOUT the $7,200 salary increase for the 9 Elected Knox County School Board Members

New budget sheet withOUT the $7,200 salary increase for the 9 Elected Knox County School Board Members

Oops #TheMegaBullhornofTruth did it again, broadcasting through the #MegaBullhorn the TRUTH to bring transparency and to correct as many wrongs as possible, before they are implemented. Hopefully, the 9 Board Members had not already spent the $66.66 per month they were about to receive.

So, Because of #TheMegaBullhornofTruth the Schools Budget Request is $7,200 less…you are Welcome Mayor Glenn Jacobs and Knox County Commission.
