When a School Board Member / Former Chair Gets Schooled

Tonight’s School Board Meeting was telling, they were talking about Elementary School playground. Former Chair Susan Horn (cousin in law to Rep. Jason Zachary) was talking about providing a playground for the Northwest Elementary School.

Board Member Daniel Watson asked Horn would she support playgrounds for Adrian Burnett and Lonsdale Elementary Schools. Horn asked why would we need to they have playgrounds, although they are getting new buildings near the old buildings.

Well Knox County tore down Adrian Burnett’s playground to build the new school and have NO plans to build it back. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Garfield Adams confirmed there are no plans for playgrounds. Superintendent Dr. Jon Rysewkyk stated that the old playground at Lonsdale is not accessible to the new school.

Just another highlight of a board of dysfunction that approved a real estate deal worse than the Clinton’s Whitewater deal with a $1.5 – $2 million dollar driveway, more on that before the January 2023 meeting.

pictures from the playgrounds of yesterday. Lonsdale celebrated a new playground in 2019, which will not be accessible in 2023.
