Bob Thomas for County Mayor Campaign Financials are Interesting

In reviewing the campaign financial disclosures for the three Republican Knox County Mayor Candidates only Bob Thomas disclosures look odd, Glenn Jacobs and Brad Anders did NOT raise any eyebrows.

The 7/15/2016 disclosure (which covers January 1, 2016 to June 30, 2016) the only oddity is that the list of contributions only list names, addresses and the amount. The list lacks the occupation, employer and the aggregate amount given per contributor.

The 1/31/2017 disclosure (which covers July 1, 2016 to January 15, 2017) the only oddity is the same as the first one, the list of contributions only list names, addresses and amount. The list lacks the occupation, employer and the aggregate amount given per contributor.

One expenditure to Rob Galbraith for $600.00 for a jingle production, which I will discuss later.

The 7/14/2017 disclosure (which covers January 16, 2017 to June 30, 2017) the oddities are that he listed $120,536 as the balance on hand last report, which is $5,956.71 more than his actual balance on hand last report. Again, it fails to list the occupation, employer and aggregate for contributors.

Here is the list of contributors, the same name is listed twice with two separate contributions, there should be an aggregate so that the no one contributor exceeds the giving limit.

On 12/29/2017  an AMENDED disclosure was filed in which the campaign records the correct balance on hand amount and authored the following statement, “incorrectly transposed campaign balance from previous report of 1/31/17 resulting in overstatement of balance.”

The 1/31/2018 disclosure (which covers July 1, 2017 to January 15, 2018) again the list of contributors lack the occupation, employer and aggregate. However, beginning with this report, the in-kind contributions do list the occupation and employer of in-kind contributors.

Now, back to the $600 jingle production expenditure between 7/1/2016 and 1/15/2017, no where in any financial disclosure in expenditures or in-kind contributions is it listed where that jingle has been played. However, on social media on May 25, 2017 it was mentioned that the jingle aired twice an hour on a local radio station. No expenditure or in-kind contribution has been reported on the financial disclosures during that time period.

A tweet on May 25, 2017 says that the jingle is run twice an hour on AM 1180 WVLZ. Where is the expenditure or the inkind contribution?

On an unrelated note of financial disclosures. But in response to that Busler/Thomas ethics complaint and the recent Knox County Law Department ethics investigation. It was said that Priority Ambulance set up the team. Why is there a tweet about a pairing party? Maybe the pairing party was just a formality.

Probably just a formality.

Just a formality?
