Linda Colquitt….Served Well

In 1985, Linda Colquitt began working in the Knox County Election Commission. In 1990, at the age of 23 I challenged a 23 year incumbent, he won re-election with only 112 more votes than I received and there was a third female in the race. My friend Josie Slagle was the Republican in the Knox County Election and Colquitt was the Democrat. The Knox County Election Commission was on L1 of the City County Building back then. They moved to the Old Courthouse. Colquitt has worked for four Election administrators, Irene Lovely, Pat Crippen, Greg Mackay and Cliff Rodgers.

Whether having run unsuccessful in 1990 or successful for a seat on the Knox County School Board in 2000 or as Chairman of the Knox County Republican Party from 2005-2007. Colquitt has always been helpful and always cheerful.

On December 21, 2018, she will retire with 31 years of service. Who will replace her position is not known at this time. However, her shoes and her position will be difficult to replace. Enjoy Linda, You deserve a stress free, relaxing retirement.
