Knox County Commissioner Kyle Ward said to me, “Thank you for your concern for my family’s safety and my safety. Since it’s an open and ongoing investigation I don’t have any comments at this time. I would like to thank the brave men and women of our sheriff’s department for their hard work on this. We should be able to disagree and still be neighbors and come together as a community.”

Biggs told me, “I am incredibly grateful to the men and women of the Knox County Sheriffs Department for their professional efforts related to the death threats made against me and my family. Sadly, in our country, we have reached the stage where political disagreements too often lead to threatening behavior , I am grateful to be serving all the citizens of Knox County. This is an isolated instance as our citizens overwhelmingly support kindness, compassion and respect for others.”

Several other Commissioners confirmed they received it and prefer not to comment
