High Density Subdivision, Massive Traffic all Amid Safety Concerns Headed to Strawberry Plains! Citizens Are Poised to Fight It

The Knoxville/Knox County Planning aka Metropolitan Planning Commission will be considering a Concept Plan for a 481 unit subdivision on 200 +/- acres along the Holston River, N. Ruggles Ferry Pike and Blake Lane.

Building this type of density around estate homes like the ones along N. Ruggles Ferry Pike and Graves Road needs to be carefully considered, a reduction in the density seems to be a logical conclusion to me. Placing this amount of traffic on secondary roads that have not been improved in over 50 years is a safety concern. The infrastructure needs to be addressed before this high density development is implemented.

Rumor in the community is that Former Knox County Commissioner and Former Property Assessor Phil Ballard is behind the scenes on this  as the property is direct descended to his wife’s mother and uncle.
