Why Cohen?

Both WBIR and WATE had former Ackermann PR employee Mike Cohen as a panelist on their talking head shows today. With all the qualified people in East TN it makes you wonder why him.

Granted before WBIR had to let Bill Shory pack his office up and depart the station, Cohen and Shory were best pals. But with Shory out of the state and not in management at WBIR. It doesn’t make sense why BIR would use a fill in panelist for the #3 station.

But Cohen is probably the only guy that makes it known he is willing and is the only guy that has nothing to do when the phone rings at the last minute and speeds down to the stations.

Cohen says on WATE that Burchette gave the middle schools because of his political popularity in these two areas. That is whoreish at a minimum and county tax dollars should NOT be used to pay back communities, but then again, that is why East Knoxville, Lonsdale and South Knox County looks the way it does.

Why is he on both stations? Must be because he’s such an efficient self-promoter. Maybe that says more about the state of political reporting by the local media than anything else. I guess kudos are in order: he finally finished paying off his previous employer after having lost the lawsuit she filed against him. The “high road road” didn’t lead to the middle ground in the courtroom, did it?

Cohen is such an ego. I remember when Allen Morgan hired him to be the spokesperson of the schools. He had an office up in the AJ building after 9 months he stormed into Morgan’s office and said if my wife were pregnant she would have had the baby before I got my office down here close to you.

Morgan went and found the spot one floor up from the board meeting room to salve his ego.

The biggest joke was Cohen actually being the PBA and the Ragsdale’s spokesman, the two most corrupt entities. Cohen still latches on to Ragsdale, representing Motorola for the Knox 911 contract while Ragsdale represents Motorola also. someone only needs to ask Coker.
