All Politics is Local

Who would have thought buying a domain or five would send a few members of the media into a frenzy. But apparently it can. First it was Knoxviews saying here it was funny, I agreed. Then Mike Donila blogged it here and his station WBIR wanted a web story here. Then the Assistant News Director at WATE asked through email about it, that report is here.

The domains were not renewed and you get alot of emails warning you of the expiration and I purchased them. The primary reason was to prove a point. If the Mayor doesn’t have the ability or wherewithal to manage two website domains. (electburchett.com & timburchett.com) it really begs the question, can he manage anything of substance?”

Chalk this up to what happened to Jeb Bush with JebBush.Com this year. Jeb had jeb2016, because JebBush.Com had a picture of the Donald on it. The exception here is that it is on a local level not a national level.

As Ronald Reagan described government best, it’s the courthouse, to the statehouse to the White House and as Former Speaker of the U.S. House wrote, All Politics is Local.

Not only did Rep Calfee, or some supporter of his, do this to Julia Hurley, but 9th district attorney General Russ Johnson’s original domain (rj4da) was purchased when he failed to renew it.
