Ole Bud Writes a Check of Our Money for Gill’s Treatment of Student

Early yesterday I posted this story about the October 2018 lawsuit against Special Education teacher Evelyn Gill, who also serves as First District Knox County Commissioner. After my questions were posted, a daily paper reporter found out that Knox County Law Director Ole Bud Armstrong has written checks, $93,000 to the parents of the 11 year old Gill was entrusted to educate, including mediation fees and presumably attorney and court costs.

With a settlement reached it could be interrupted to normal everyday citizens that Gill in fact inflicted the harm on the 11 year old boy that the lawsuit alleged.

Knox County Schools offered Gill a teaching position at Fulton High School when her leave pending the investigation had concluded and she chose to resign.

Prior to her retirement, the daily paper detailed her controversial work history with the school district here.

The actual allegations of abuse of the 11 year old male student from the daily paper are, When the boy would rest his head on his desk, Gill would pick up the desk and “slam it on the ground,” causing him to hit his head.

The 11 year old as has been reported is a non verbal Special Education student, DCS launched its investigation Aug. 18, 2017, after parents of the boy’s classmates complained to school officials, the complaint said, and the department alerted the boy’s parents of the probe.
