Leon F. Shields for Republican State Executive Committeeman District 5

Last month at the Center City Republican Club Leon F. Shields came and introduced himself as a Candidate for Republican State Executive Committeeman District 5. This is the district that State Senator Randy McNally represents. A portion of Northwest Knox County is in the district. Last week at the Karns Republican Club he was represented by his mother and father.

Last night, Shields was an attendee of the Loudon County Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner. He was warmly received due to his active involvement in the Republican Party.

Shields is a lifelong resident of Lenoir City. He is a 4th generation Republican a Graduate of the Lenoir City School System. Shields has Graduated from various Local, State and Federal Specialized Schools. Shields is a 23 year employee of LCUB (Lenoir City Utilities Board) and a 16 year employee of the Loudon County Sheriffs Department. Shields is a Director/Firefighter of Loudon County Fire and Rescue. He is a small business owner. He serves as an Advisory Board Member of the Lenoir City High School Technical Center. Shields is a Dive Rescue International Underwater Investigator/Diver. He is a Department of Safety Firearms Instructor and a Department of Insurance and Commerce Explosives Handler/Blaster. Shields is a Lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a Tactical Instructor. Shields is a Member and Instructor of the Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads. Shields is a Chevalier/Active Legion of Honor, Order of Demolay. Shields is a Member of Avery Lodge, Free & Accepted Masona. Shields is a Member Knoxville Scottish Rite Bodies. Member of the Kerbela Shrine Temple for Crippled and Burned Children. Shields is a Member of the Fraternal Order of Police and a Member of Highland Park Ruritan.

The Republican Primary is August 7, 2014. The filing deadline is NOON on April 8, 2014. Why would anyone challenge a man with immense qualifications and as connected his entire life to the Republican Party in the heart of the 5th State Senate District?
