Candidates, Candidates and More Candidates!

Thanks to the generosity of Knoxville Entrepreneur Tim Graham for opening up his Grande Event Center at Merchants Road and Clinton Highway at no charge for a Candidate Forum and Meet and Greet.

Nearly every candidate for local office was present. Daniel Kidd, Democrat candidate for Knox County Fourth Circuit Court Judge had a booth manned with volunteers, giving out treat bags of snacks and candy along with an information card. He and his opponent David Valone facing off in the Democrat primary on May 6 were participating in an already scheduled debate over at the Family Justice Center.

The Republicans for Fourth Circuit Court Judge Greg McMillan and Patty Jane Lay were meeting with voters and giving out pens, candy and information about their campaigns.

Republican Knoxville Attorney Scott Greene and Democrat District Attorney General Prosecutor Leland Price were set up in booths side by side. They both are unopposed in their respective primaries, they both are very nice and respectful of each other. Both are like able, capable men. Greene was giving out key chain flash lights and can koozies. While Leland had hand sanitizing pens.

General Sessions Judge Patricia Hall Long had AWESOME drinking cups and car magnets. Trustee candidate Barry Hawkins had water bottles with his sticker on them. According to article in today’s Knox News Sentinel by Gerald Witt, he even gave one to his opponent Craig Leuthold a bottle of water.

There were two forums, a County Commission candidate forum and a Knox County School Board candidate forum. While, it was mostly civil, it doesn’t appear any minds were changed or votes were effected. Special thanks to Elaine Davis for organizing and carrying out an exceptional event.

Well folks, I am surprised the roof remained on the former Montgomery Ward building, there was so much hot air, lies and deceit pilfering among the congregation. But I would like to thank Graham for the use of the facility as I enjoyed the festivities. Not a big turnout of non-political circuit members (common folk). But the two rooms were jammed packed full of politicians and the courthouse mob. Brian you are right the fancy cup from the Judge came in handy, I parked my false teeth right in that cup and appreciate the kind words she gave me. Had to pass on the water but that feller impressed me on his enthusiasm. Now that the salutations and greetings have been said lets get down to the grit the good people of the courthouse live for. Dear Lord I sound like an introduction to a GOP convention.

I never seen so many liars in my life carrying out signs for Joy’s chosen puppet. I have to refer to a check written to him by Lulu herself from the Committee to Elect Joy McCroskey in the amount of $1000.00, thats a better than a down payment on a husband. If the two employees I seen last night carrying out signs for him ever belly ache and cry AGAIN about Joy’s strong arming ways, demanding you to support him, I will call you out by name. You know how she is, one false fart and your out the door. I understand your getting older and need your job, but selling yourself to the devil isn’t a life that I would want to live. The secret is too well known Joy and old Elmer knows all too well. Remember this old gal the Paper DOES NOT VOTE!!!!!

I sit back since I retired and look at things as an outsider. Have you ever seen the runt of a hogs offspring fighting for a chance at the tit, thats exactly what it is like in a primary. These people get behind the same old cronies just because they do not want to open their options to a new comer. I have sat and listened to so many dinosaurs bitch and gripe about cleaning up the courthouse, they talk a good talk, but will vote for the idiot one more time for old time sake. Not understanding the logic but at least their heart beats a few times a week. People get out and vote and vote for a better government, old Elmer won’t be here forever and it would do an old man good to see good finally win. If you have a shadow of doubt, don’t make a stupid choice, go with your heart, you will sleep better with your choice.
