What Will Knox County NOT Sell?

Knox County is auctioning off two Japanese Maples that have to be relocated from the forensic center. It is rather odd that the County Mayor would want to save or make money off two Japanese maples. The County Mayor has made public remarks about his fathers service in the war and why he was raised to not support the Japs.

While talking with some folks today, we discussed how funny it would be if someone bought them and then they cut them and chopped them up into a truck on site. It also begs the question with the City of Knoxville having an urban forester is the County Mayor emulating the City Mayor?

WTF are you talking about. Those are beautiful trees. Why would you NOT want to save them? I don’t see eye to eye with Tim but I do as regarding these trees. If someone were to actually buy them and then grind them up on site, there is something wrong.

Did I say I didn’t want to save them? NO. The county has personnel over at Engineering and Public Works that could move the two trees, somewhere that all Knox County could enjoy them, like any of our many county parks. But instead he wants to continue the era of photo ops, ribbon cuttings and trying to advance to the next political office. This is just a dog and pony show
