Several people messaged me last night and this morning about a letter that Mayor Madeline Rogero has sent to the little (in stature) Former Mayor, read it here. Somehow, the little guy got a gig writing for Sandra Clark, E.W. Scripps (now Gannett) apparently he spends a lot of time calling and emailing city departments.
I have heard rumors that he uses his writing position to get information. I always ignored it, primarily because I have more than I can say grace over here at BrianHornback.Com but anyway after reading the Mayor’s letter, I wonder why Sandra Clark’s supervisors haven’t intervened. I am confident that the real writers at the News Sentinel would not get away with what the former Mayor is accused of.
If I recall a rumor accurately from years ago, an employee of News Sentinel got a couple days off for posting something on Twitter. If there is a paper trail of what the city sent and his published opinion which is not reflective of the information the city sent, why hasn’t Gannett taken coaching or disciplinary action on the writer?
And to think a certain blog have to defend themselves over a lawsuit for almost two years. Maybe the city employee in the Mayor’s letter ought to seek a legal counselors opinion?
Of course I have also been told (not confirmed) that the column is worth what they pay for it. Apparently, he writes it pro bono aka free.
