We Now Know That He Will Not Take On Ballard

This from Mike “da career killa” Donila we can project that Robert Lawrence Smith will not be challenging the current Property Assessor in 2016. We can also safely project that he will not challenge Knox County Law Director Bud Armstrong. Unless he completes a correspondence law school and obtains a law degree.

But, all other races are probable runs for the current Vice Chairman of the Knox County Commission. He took on Trustee John Duncan in the media and on the Commission soap box. He leveled accusations of intimidation and threats by Congressman John J. “Jimmy” Duncan, Jr. He has made it no secret that he is eyeing the Register of Deeds position currently held by Sherry Witt.

Will the voters forget that just last week he could not decide if a colleague that plead guilty to a year old crime should be censured? He passed. He was able to decide a month or two after the alleged criminal act to write a letter to the Judge about what a deserving person his colleague was for diversion. But a year later, he couldn’t decide if a guilty plea and conviction was worth a censure. A censure that really doesn’t mean anything. Just ask Former Commissioner Greg Lambert, Former Law Director Bill Lockett and Former Mayor Mike Ragsdale.

Multiple sources overheard him say to someone that asked, what he is running for next, “I don’t know, I haven’t been told yet.” So, is this voice a publisher of a weekly throw away newspaper? Hint: It isn’t Sandra Clark.
