Now You Will Know “The Rest of the Story” on Jason Emert and His Start

On Saturday January 18, 2014 I posted this story. It was reactionary to the report of the Big Metal Shed on the Hill and the redigested version posted on the liberal playground of KnoxViews.

I had heard about Jason Emert but had not met him. This afternoon, I met him and I got “the rest of the story.” On the day the press release was sent, it was sent as an embargoed press release until 1:00 p.m. to four news outlets, after the initial email was sent it was immediately discovered that the non edited version was accidentally sent instead of the edited version. So, the second edited version was sent as an embargoed email for 1:00 p.m. just a few minutes later. There is some question whether the Big Metal Shed on the Hill honored the embargoed 1:00 p.m. press release or not.

Either way, it appears that the Big Metal Shed on the Hill instead of reporting the news opted instead to create some news by reporting the non edited press release. Clearly if you connect the dots of the actions of the Big Metal Shed along with the cover story on Scripps baby paper Metro Pulse through a free lance writer that they were expecting Emert and the free lance writer/stringer’s front page article was a preemptive strike as the E.W. Scripps folks were expecting a Jason Emert candidacy. Mrs. Vines had listed him in previous columns, clearly the knew who Emert was and what he was planning to do.

So, what a good deal for the Shed to receive two press releases back to back and create news by reporting the non edited version. Thus, making news. It must have felt like a Holiday party (cause we know the politically correct, Scripps group would not have a Christmas party) at the Big Metal Shed on the Hill.

Then when Reporter Gerald Witt called Emert about the campaign and an untimely filing of his Treasurer Appointment. Emert as a new guy to an agenda driven media said he had $100,000. What he was saying is not that he had a $100,000 in contributions or even pledges. What he was saying is that he had an idea that as he has talked to hundreds of persons (in the district and in Tennessee) about challenging Johnson that people have said, if you were to run, I could do this, that or another. Not commitments, not pledges, not donations. In my opinion, Witt is a fair reporter and has not been tainted by the Big Metal Shed leadership. It was a fair story, I believe and I told Emert that today.

Now, that you know the rest of the story. Let’s talk about who can best represent the district for smaller government, keeping taxes low, improving education and healthcare. Clearly in the grand scheme of things, I will support a businessman like Emert, just as I did two years ago with Gary Loe and just as I have done for 31 plus years of active political engagement.

The Republicans must rally to support Emert and defeat the small business killer, tax and spend liberal Johnson.
